Bikepacking along the ViaRhona

This is when I went bike-packing for the first time! It was me and my German friend Dominik , taking our bikes and loading them up with our tents and sleeping bags and taking a train before sunrise to Lyon. We only had the weekend so the earliest train was the most convenient. Also considering the time you need to dismantle your bike and take all the bags down is considerable. So we had to get up quiet early!
The first day, we arrived around 9 AM at Lyon. We rode for about 60 kilomters along the Rhone river. We went through farms, hills, cities and bridges. Except for the few kilometers around Lyon, the path was very nice and comfortable to ride. I was happy to have thick gravel tires that can handle the difficult terrains.
We passed through the beautiful city of Vienne with majestic roman empire remains. Lucky us there was a medieval festival ongoing in the city. We took our time in Vienne and found a nice camp after the first day.
